700 | _aMigne went to immense trouble collecting from all over Europe the best existing editions to use; his main assistants in this were the Benedictines of St Maur. He then personally supervised the setting up of the print, proofread, usually 5 times, printed and distributed to his subscribers - beginning in 1856, until a fire destroyed his whole workshop in 1868. Since nothing remained after the fire, volumes dated after 1868 are reprints by Brépols, Turnhout, Belgium, who are still reprinting volumes as required. | ||
